But not playing golf, nor drinking to excess nor enjoying a late afternoon curry, meant that we were able to meet up with chums Ken and Rose, on the third proposed date in the diary following two postponements due to events outwith our control...
On the way out to head down the hill for the bus into town, this on the guttering of the garage - a rather large family of spiders...

Drinks at Platform Five before we wandered along to Mia's Italian Kitchen...
The ladies were in dots...
The starters were ace...
Capesante Thermidor (scallops), Gamberoni (prawns), Focaccia with Tomatoes, Garlic and Basil and Melanzane alla Parmigiana (aubergines)...
...and a young man at the next table had an interesting Salvador Dali tattoo...
While I admire Senor Dali, I would not go that far...
Having ordered a pizza, a stonker of a knife was provided...
...for a stonker of a pizza - probably the best pizza in the world - Pizza Diavola (with extra onions)...

Oh no - the best cheescake in the world...
Zero calories, thankfully...
An excellent night was topped off with a last drink at Ryrie's before Ken and Rose caught a train home - next time, Indian...
