The view from the office this morning...

Out early for fresh breakfast provisions...

...the exec Producer had a hankering for croissants...

Having made our way around Madrid purely on foot thus far, today's target required a trip on the underground...

Here's a clue...

We were visiting the home of Real Madrid...

Having paid our entry fee, escalators took us to the top of the stadium...

The view to the outside...

...the view to the inside...

It's steep...

Tis is the club's original stadium - over the years they have merely built it upwards to accommodate more and more spectators...

The debris from last night's Champions League win over Sporting Lisbon was being cleared...

While I found the whole experience much more enjoyable than I'd thought I would and the surroundings very impressive, this was more exciting for the EP I think...

Looking forward to getting to the dugout...

...although it was doubtful I'd be taking to the pitch...

A huge multi visual display comprised the lion's share of the tour - taking us through the entire impressive history of the world's most successful club...

There were trophies galore on display...

..along with historical shirts...

...boots and balls...

...and other memorabilia...

The white vases are European Cups, the originals were in their own impressive display...

This award is the only one of its kind in the world - awarded to Real Madrid by FIFA in 2000 recognising Real Madrid as the most successful club of the 20th Century...

Some of the trophies had not, I imagine, been held aloft by anyone...

Here, fans listen to "the sounds of the stadium"...

Their greatest player, de Stefano...

Their sixth European Cup...

...and, in their very own, very large case, all eleven European Cups the club has won...

...including last season's...

The Exec Producer became part of a collage...

...as did your correspondent...

Out for a seat...

...and a walk round...

...and into the home changing rooms...

Down the segregated tunnel to the pitch...

Subs for the day...

...back into the tunnel...

..and the slightly less salubrious away changing rooms...

Time for a press conference...

Everyone else had their picture taken in the seat currently occupied by Zidane - of course, I took one from his viewpoint...

A look round the shop where their attempts to worm even more money from us were batted down...

And out - a very interesting couple of hours indeed...

Back to our own wee street for lunch...

...followed by coffee at the nearby Cafe Barbieri...

..and then, a walk back into town...

A return to Killers in the street of prostitutes and this was partaken of for just four of your European Euros -  a 4CD set of electronic music...

More walking and looking up at impressive facades along Gran Via....

A strange display in a model shop...

We had swithered with visiting the Prado this evening, our last but the queues were round the block - so it would (a) take ages to get in and (b) be full of all the people who had been in front of us in the queue...

We just took a walk around the environs instead...

...and then stumbled across this...

The Caixa Forum...

..who's content...

...looked...

...interesting...

Home via Reina Sofia...

...and dropping back in at Lamiak jazz bar on the way...

In the evening out, Lavapies was filling up...

A walk around in the gathering twilight...

...collecting nourishment for the evening meal taken at home...

...where we relaxed and packed...

Highlight of the Day : A stadium whose name British people, generally, fail to pronounce correctly...

Thanks Moira. I can however confirm it was, indeed, too hot...(most of the time)
