Out this morning to find the first garden snail of the season, making its way across the path, trying not to be stood on by humans or eaten by birds...

Mon the snails...

Lunch partaken of at the edge of Princes St Gardens, in quiet, peaceful surroundings...

Then, a walk up Lothian Rd, noting a couple of enticing performances coming next month...

To McAllister Matheson Music, Edinburgh's best Classical Music shop, if not the most "preiswert"...

For example, I secured this just this week for around £6...

Snapped up...

Two baroque CDs also picked up - Platti's Cello Concertos and a disc of works by Sardelli, which sounds exactly like Vivaldi at his best...

Sardelli was born, though, in 1963...

The guy at the counter also pointed out two completely fee sampler CDs, one for the Alpha/Outhere label and one for Dutch engineer and founder of Channel Classic, Jared Sacks...

In all then, over the last two days, these have joined the fray...

With Anne out, seeing Hearts put a final knife through the heart of Aberdeen's title chances, coming from behind to win 2-1, I spent the evening ripping and listening...

And enjoying a wee snifter of port...

...as you do...

My mum and dad brought this back one year from a holiday in Portugal...

My dad died in 2003...

The bottle was finally opened tonight...

Cheers dad!

On Anne's triumphant return, "Have I Got News For You" and Richard Ayoadi's "Travel Man : 48 Hours in...", which, this week, visited the built on slave labour, horrendous monstrosity and blight on the face of the earth which is Dubai...

Both programmes were much enjoyed...

Like us Richard has no time for Dubai...

Which was good...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day : New music...
