Mostly new things today music-wise...
Post Alice Cooper's last album, which somehow didn't sound as good as it used to, new albums recently downloaded by Ut Gret, Adebisi Shank and Tingvall Trio were given a closer listen, as I made my way through a fairly uneventful, overcast day, that warranted no photographic recording...
Back home, continued with the second disc of the David Sylvian update, whilst more new music was discovered - not that I need any of course...
A not very good sub Blood Sweat and Tears/Chicago (when they were good) album by a band called Ambergris (which I used to see in 2nd hand record shops in the seventies and was always intrigued by the close up of a chicken which adorned its cover) and a very good, new to me but successful in Germany since the late nineties, German Band called And One, a cross between Depeche Mode, DAF and Yello...
Later, The Ronnie James Dio Story joined the fray (I had all the tracks already bar Roger Glover's "Butterfly Ball", an old fave from back in the day) along with a two disc set of music from Berlin...
On TV, "Big Bang" and "University Challenge" entertained - I was not on fire - while sustenance was derived from a super tasty casserole with sweet potato mash from Anne's big book of tasty recipes she carries around in her head...
Yum...
Very late on a call from a distressed mum, she herself it seems having just been called by a fraudster pretending to be a credit card company advising money had been taken from her account and that she should phone her bank - while the fraudster's plan was to then wait on the line to intercept her call...
Mum however, along with her two visiting chums, Jeanette and Diane, neighbours from the old days, foiled the plot and no harm done, though an 83 year old woman was left shaken by the incident and it may have been worse had she been in on her own at 10:35 pm when the heartless bastards called...
See here for the modus operandi...
What a world...
Highlight of the Day : 83 year old woman and old chums foil heartless bastards in fraud attempt...
