One hundred years ago today Great Britain declared war on Germany - much commemorated...

Elsewhere, a good Monday...

Out post breakfast and along to Roseburn...

...for walk along the waterside, spotting this wee chum in a place not seen before...

Onward...

...over the "Riverleaves" bridge...

...up the steps and in the back gate of the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art...

..for the "Generations - 25 Years of Contemporary Art in Scotland"...

I found it impressive, the Exec Producer perhaps not quite as much so...

Out...

..and on to the minibus...

...for more at the National Gallery on the Mound...

The Exec Producer liked the fluorescent tube trees...

...and the six independently sculpted heads of The Angel of Death...

As well as those, I also liked these...

The beast was about its business...

...as were very many others...

We walked through the Meadows...

...where the grass was green and the sky was blue...

...to Summerhall...

..and the Royal Dick (Vet), for lunch...

Good surroundings...

This beer was smaller than it looks...

...as was this beast - which, sadly, did for one of Mr CBQ's vulnerable teeth - a fix is required once more - this age thing sucks...

Out and over the piano-occupied courtyard...

...along a corridor with two pictures of a disturbing piece I walked through last year...

...for a look around...

Into the basement...

...and back out on to the street...

...up around the corner and there was more, including a smidgeon of Joseph Beuys...

The EP was unimpressed with the work of the erstwhile Genesis P Orridge...

All arted out, we went in search of coffee - to Marchmont, past this bar where Sombre Reptiles had an unlikely residency in 1983...

Coffee obtained and enjoyed at Pastures...

...followed by around an hour's walk back to the car, passing these billboards containing two of three of the most important of things...

Five hours between leaving here and returning...

Back home, an unwatched DVD was selected from the pile of unwatched DVDs...

...and "Bridesmaids" was found to be very entertaining and enjoyable...

As was this little visitor to the front garden...
The rest of the evening was spent mainly ensuring the entire Rheostatics discography was added to iTunes and sucking in more new music, with a surfeit of tasty jazz hitting the Crispycat Hard Drives...

Initial listening indicated that BADBADNOTGOOD and Plymouth were two excellent new finds...

Elsewhere, it seems I have started to garner a few followers for my podcasts on Mixcloud, which is good...

Highlight of the Day : Out and about with the Exec Producer...
