Out for a walk first thing to the store for breakfast provisions...

This wee monkey was not on the menu...

...nor this one...

...nor this bigger one...

A single croissant secured and a walk back to the house...

...where I continued to listen to Shostakovich piano music as Anne snoozed - I had hoped to hear it live but was too late in arising myself to make it to the venue on time, so settled for the same music from the collection...

After breakfast and further unrequired downloading of music, we set off for Cramond...

...and enjoyed a walk along the banks of the River Almond...

...stopping off at the Falls Cafe for mid-morning treats, having today hit a new low since records began (although I'm still far from "lithe")...

My apple and cinnamon scone was one of the best scones I've tasted...

..and zero calories apparently...

Onward...

...past presumed watchers of wildlife...

...to Cramond Brig...

...which provided a good view of the way we'd come...

There were ponies in the distance as we made our way back to the car...

..boats in the grass...

...and an angel on a wall...

...felled trees...

..and mushroom clusters...

Don't look now...

I ran up these steps - probably a mistake...

Back to the car park...

...and home, not stepping on the repainted step...

As we settled down to watch the entertaining film "Quartet", we had a visitor...

Too fast again...

Coffee was enjoyed...

I ran through a short set of covers, some good, some not so good - I really need to get round to working out what might still work re these - and in trying to get the band back together in some shape or form...

In the evening, Anne was off to Zumba and I was gathering into a playlist the quartets we hope to enjoy in a series of concerts from November to February...

Home made vegetable soup was tasty while neither of us was on fire for "University Challenge"...

90 minutes I'll never get back was wasted on the latest TV debate on Independence.  It seems there are a lot of people in Scotland with no understanding of economics...

Some late night listening and off to bed...

Highlight of the Day : A walk along the water...
