Downstairs first thing at around 6:45 to find Meg the Black Cat...

...had taken my last 100 acquisitions (which includes 8 albums in one box by Duke Ellington) from the living room shelf, carefully placed them on the dining room table...

...and taken a series of photographs...

OK I've acquired quite a lot of music already this year as you can see but I'm actually quite pleased with the selection...

A podiatrist's appointment beckoned and I decided to walk but couldn't remember how long it took the last time I did so, eight weeks ago...

So I set out at 7:30...

...down Crispycat Hill...

...past the Zoo...

...through the drizzle...

...past the roads to Anne's mum's and Jane & Bobby's and on past the strange house...

...the Chinese Consulate and Murrayfield (behind the trees)...

..to Roseburn - in just over 40 minutes...

So, I was early - got warmed up in Vigo with a nice coffee...

..and was right on time for my 8:45 with Helen...

Some good entertaining chat re exercise and nutrition while she did her magic on Mr Quartet's feet...

Out around 9:10 and onwards along the Water of Leith...

...past the bridge which will feature...

... on the "Riverleaves" cover...

...and past the Sports Centre, where Capital Models played two weeks ago...

...and ignored the "Footpath Closed " sign...

...and the other one a little way along - clambering over the padlocked fence...

...through Dean Village...

...past the being-repaired St Bernard's Well...

...into Stockbridge, drying off a little in Cafe Nero...

The beast was about its business once again...

..which consisted mostly of sitting around posing for the camera, sipping coffee and texting Anne..

Back out into the rain and round the corner to Voxbox where a 3CD set of early John Lee Hooker was acquired for no particular reason, certainly not because I am a fan of "the blues", because I am not...

Into Patisserie Florentin to wait for the Exec Producer to arrive (with a dry coat for your correspondent)...

Breakfast was accompanied by some planning for changes...

Home, and I downloaded Spotify onto the PC - much better for curating all the music on my hard drives than iTunes has proven to be...

It kept me entertained all afternoon while Anne was out at Kitty's annual dancing show...

Much hilarity at today's footie results with the mighty Celtic losing to Ross County 3-2 after leading 2-0 and The Rangers being beaten at Ibrox by Annan Athletic...

And these teams think they ought to be in the English Premier League?

Meanwhile Queens went 20 points clear in Division Two with yet another win...

Hearts play Hibs tomorrow...

Tasty pasta on Anne's return, followed by "Let's Dance for Comic Relief" before more music listening and, finally, "Law & Order : Criminal Intent" - we cannot yet watch "Spiral" series 4, as we await the DVD of series 3 from brother-in-law Keith...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day : Dr Prog's beloved Spotify finally makes an impression...

And she did all that without an opposable thumb to her name. Some cat.

Aha, but Meg does have opposable thumbs - as seen in the Cravendale ad she starred in a couple of years ago - see here:-

That's really my ideal CBQ entry. I get an absurd and pathetic vicarious thrill from ogling at the CD purchases, taking delight in spotting for ones I know, have or have been thinking about getting, and then the wonderfully idiosyncratic guided tour around the pyschogeography of the CBQ world. Excellent!

Cheers Mr S - your feedback always buoys!

I welcome pics of the yellow room in precisely the same way...
