Various - Acquisitions 2012/13

Up just after six and initial listening and acquainting myself with Peri Urban's indicated songs we are to attempt...

Then looking at other stuff on the net, trying to sort out Flash etc etc...

Before I knew it it was 8am...

At 9:15, out in to the pouring rain with Mr Bowie...

...down Crispycat Hill...

...on through the pouring rain...

...past the Zoo...

..the road to Anne's mum's house...

...the road to Jane and Bobby's house...

...the Chinese Consulate and Murrayfield...

...Helen the podiatrist's...

...the Church from where I usually take the bus home...

...the ex Donaldson's School for the Deaf...

...a white Bentley, who's owner I know, parked outside a Sainsbury's Local...

At this point the battery of the Creative Jukebox gave out - luckily I had the Sony Walkman and the iPod along for the ride...

On up Morrison St and over to West Port past Love Crumbs...

...into the Grassmarket...

...and through it...

..up Victoria St to George IV Bridge and arrived at the music Library at 10:44...

..not bad going, counting a few stops to text from the relative dry of a couple of bus shelters - Dr Prog advising he would not be joining me...

Returned the discs borrowed three weeks ago which are unlistened to but have been ripped to a hard drive for later listening perhaps...

Did not take anything else out...

A further walkabout in the rain, securing sandwiches to take home for lunch...

Down Cockburn St - once a Saturday afternoon delight, now no longer...

..across Waverley Bridge, the tourists doing their best under the wet circumstances...

Driech...

To Fopp - no purchases - then back to the bridge and an Airport Bus boarded...

I fell asleep and was taken too far - jumped off, ran over the road through the now freezing precipitation and caught a bus back to where I ought to have alighted, ran over the road again and caught a No 26 up Crispycat Hill...

The beast etc etc...

Out into the snow...

..and down to the house...

...arriving home almost four hours to the minute from having left...

My accomplishments comprised (a) returning CDs to the library (b) securing lunch and (c) walking around seven miles, all told...

The last of the five discs of Maxwell Davies' Naxos Quartets had arrived during my absence...

The afternoon was spent listening to the radio, trawling through the hours and hours and hours of what must be absolutely the worst television possible (apart from infomercial and bid TV channels - but only just)...

Yes, it was last night's "Comic Relief" - trying to find a few minutes here, a few minutes there worth watching was an ordeal...

James Corden's speech contained some home truths but got to the very heart of the evening...

However, I still think they might raise even more money by promising that, if a certain target is reached, the show will be cancelled...

Some quartet listening while fine tuning potential Edinburgh Festival events to attend...

Delighted that QoS got an equaliser in the 3rd minute of injury time at Arbroath to stretch their unbeaten run to 14 games...

Concocted a tuna based dish for tea, then we watched a couple more episodes of "Spiral" series 3 - where the lead female cop's character has suffered a 90 degree turnabout in the morality stakes it seems...

Late on, a visit next door in a Comic Relief fundraising scenario and enjoyed some very entertaining tales on running a restaurant...

Home for "Law & Order : Criminal Intent" before hitting the sack...

Really should have spent more time today on the various music projects I've got on the go...

Not to worry...

Highlight of the Day : Getting to the library...
