Broken Social Scene - You Forgot It In People
Another uneventful day...
Re Friday's Capital Models reunion session, discovered today that, although we have two drummers, neither has a snare drum...
Having to co-opt James Jamieson's son Conrad's snare into the proceedings...
With Anne out at Zumba, I amended my newly proposed Oz inspired Yes compilation from a 3CD all over the place set to a chronogical 2CD set with one track from each LP plus the 70's non-album cover of Paul Simon's "America" and the last song Yes recorded with Jon Anderson, "Show Me" from 2003...
To fit it onto two discs I had to segue/crossfade the tracks into each other...
...haven't burnt it yet - started listening to the new Broken Social Scene album I bought the other day - one of the LPs of 2010 for a lot of people in the so-called "know" - and I'm liking it...
So much so that I added the other BSS (not Brain Salad Surgery) album I have to my playlist and switched to shuffleplay...
Of course Yes is one of my all time fave bands, although the recent DVDs I've seen of them have been incredibly boring for some reason...
Doing this comp took me back to every LP and there were a lot of titles on the later albums which meant nothing to me...
The most reviled album of band members is probably "Union" but I always surprise Dr Prog by saying how much I like it - I think there is a really good 40 min album in there...
And now they are without both Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman - their current singer was discovered on Youtube singing in a Yes covers band, while Wakeman's place on keyboards has been taken by his son...
I saw this current line up last year and they rocked - apart from the abomination that was "Owner of a Lonely Heart" and, suffice to say, Dr Prog and I are off to see them again in November in Glasgow - by which time I will, no doubt, have purchased the new LP...
But that's probably enough about Yes...
Elsewhere, texts were flowing from sisters in England advising another good day - also spoke with Pam and she sounded good...
The docs are back to planning her treatment in anticipation of her infection levels getting back to normal over the next week or so...
Sausage, egg and beans for tea - tasty!
Highlight of the day : Yessongs...
