Tonight I was a guest at The Scottish Arts Club for a wine tasting provided by a young lady called India from Majestic Wines…
Rather aptly, the above illustration is a wine label produced by the club, which is situated in the quiet, leafy surroundings of Rutland Square...
Suffice to say the two gin and tonics pre tasting and the seven or eight glasses of wine during the tasting (your correspondent does not spit) kind of did for me, leaving me in yet another worse for wear scenario…
The wine was good though…
The idea was to present us with three sets of two wines from the same region, same grape but, in each set, one retails around £8 and one around £22 and the differences between a “good” wine and a “fine” wine were pointed out to us…
So we enjoyed two Sauvignon Blancs, two Bordeuax and two Riojas – the last tasting being blind and during which I was able to identify the “fine” one of the two using what I’d learned…
Which of course I promptly forgot after finishing off the bottle…
A bus back to Crispycat Towers, bearing gifts for the Exec Producer who, in turn, provided a plate of her very tasty, homemade, macaroni cheese…
As you might imagine, this went down a treat…
We watched “Reaper” and then a repeat of "Big Bang Theory" while we waited for “In the Loop” but Anne fell asleep before the last started - so a quick set of the timer and off to bed…
Possible sore head scenario tomorrow methinks…
Highlight of the Day : Wine tasting…
