Cloudland Blue Quartet – Soundingfall

Stravinsky – L’Histoire du Soldat

Up early as usual despite last night’s shenanigans...

Updated the diary then spent an hour or so creating the latest Cloudland Blue Podcast featuring one track each from the last 10 albums acquired...

Count Brodski arrived in the Brodski mobile at 9:30 and we headed uptown to the Record Fair...

.....where he purchased a trio of eclectic LPs and a couple of CDs, while I picked up a couple of classical discs in line with my recent listening – Richard Strauss and Igor Stravinsky – and a Keith Jarret Anthology of his time at Atlantic....

Then a quick trip to FOPP where I found a 2DVD set by Kiss for just £3 – mental prices...

Brodders gave me a lift back home and, as Anne headed to Tynecastle (Hearts 3 Kilmarnock 1; Queens losing at home 2-1 to Ross County in a proverbial six pointer), I watched the first disc of the Kiss set – what a show those guys put on...

Headed to the PC to re-record some vocal lines on the 13th track for the new LP, “They Broke the Door Down” which will probably be the first track on the disc...

Also recorded a bass line but eventually discarded this, along with a number of vocal lines and over a minute of the version previously saved...

So here’s the song...

Cloudland Blue Quartet – They Broke the Door Down (3:16)

In the evening, Count Brodski returned and ferried us to his and Penny’s place where we enjoyed some home made popcorn as we perused some pics of their Australian trip...

I forgot to take the camera and so did not document matters – probably just as well considering the alcohol consumed...

A tip top dinner comprised a very tasty Fish Pie plus veg, followed by Lemon Cake with Kirsch fruit salad...

Mmm, mmmm...

Penny asked me to mention the phrase "stinks of fish" - re a comment found on Arran about Creelers Fish Restaurant there - also Penn, here's the link for the good day last May...

We were soundtracked by selections from Alan’s collection, including purchases from this morning, dub reggae and strange jazz, as we chatted on various topics including health, dreams, holidays, families and the fact that Alan and Penny got engaged in January and never even told us!!

A taxi home and to bed at 2:15 but I got very little sleep and spent much of the night listening to the latest version of the new LP...

Highlight of the Day : Alan and Penny engaged...

That's for me to know (though often I don't know what my songs are about) and you to wonder, Stupot!!
