Start of an era...

Up and working or, rather, "working"...

Did I mention that the votes were in re our sets for the gig on 24 May...

We all voted for the "30 songs we'd like to play"..

I was surprised at how little the majority of the band strayed from the current sets in the vote, going for no more than 4 replacements or even as few as 1 or 2…

The percentage of the 30 votes that were made for the status quo was 74% on average - 50.00%, 96.67%, 90.00%, 86.67%, 46.67%...

So, just two radicals in the band.

In the end, it looks like just 8 of the 42 songs will be replaced - with 4 debuts being granted and the return of 4 old favourites...

Just before 9 off to the doc's for the results of my blood tests...

Based on the results, my chances of a heart attack or stroke in the next 10 years is 1 in 4...

The only negative (apart from that 1 in 4 chance, which seems more attached to my being old and male and my dad having had a heart attack at 54), is that my cholesterol is raised...

Losing weight might help but there's no guarantee - many slim people have high cholesterol - but, obviously, I should eat sensibly and avoid certain things - however, cholesterol is also produced naturally by the liver (my liver is fine and dandy btw) and this can be reduced by taking statins...

And so, I was given the choice to take them...

I thought "why not?" - I have nothing to lose (apart from my proud claim, as an almost 66 year old man, that I take zero medication) and everything to gain (the possibility of reducing my chances of a "life-changing event" from 1 in 4 to, perhaps, 1 in 5)...

Home with 8 weeks' supply and an appointment for a follow up blood test in early May...

Wrote up the Red book of CDs I own...

Early lunch and a Portillo rail journey in Brittany and Normandy then, out for a return to the football...

Do I look that bad for an almost 66 year old on statins?

Two wins and a draw ensued - no goals but quite a few saves during my spells in goal...

The views as I left...

To FourSquare (of course)...

And, how can you not when it's 5CDs (no matter how many in the box) for just £1.50?

In addition to the above, a doubler by Sting...

So these were 33p each instead of 30p each...

Reasonable...

Ripping and listening in the afternoon...

...plus the first of "Grace" entertained - with reasonably ample retribution dished out in the end (even though I wanted more)...

More ripping and listening...

Baked Potatoes for tea - mine with healthy baked beans...

Late on a "Rizzoli and Isles"...

Bed around 11:20...

Highlight of the Day : Footballing...
