As I've often said on here before, Xmas Eve may well be the most exciting day of the year...

And so, up early...

Scenes...

Someone asked on Twitter for the first record you got for Xmas...

I reckon it was this, in 1973, albeit, bought with "Xmas Money" rather than being gifted per se...

A shave was undertaken...

...and I brought my list (including the record above) of those received at Xmas up to date (until tomorrow) of the 186 records in question...

They necessarily include a goodly number of CDs received to replace LPs I'd previously owned...

A couple of things may be added tomorrow if Santa decides I've been good...

Then, it was out on various errands...

Firstly to sister Sheila's to drop off presents for grand nephews Kerr, Dougie and Lockie...

Chaos was reigning...

Tori was coping...

Dougie and Lockie were breakfasting...

Wee Harris was here too...

He's a dab hand on the computer...

...and likes to tidy cupboards...

We gave Lockie his "Mothra"...

...with which he was delighted...

...and Dougie got an animal encyclopedia, with over 2,500 animals therein...

Also delighted...

Chat with Senior...

Hopefully he will get vaccinated soon instead of putting himself and everyone else at risk for purely unrational reasons...

..which Tori...

...Andy - and everyone else, cannot fathom...

Then, round to Ali's, to drop off Harris's present for tomorrow...

He showed us round the work completed so far on his and Julie's new home...

Looking good...

The garden is "decorated"...

Meanwhile, back at Sheila's, the three boys were looking for Santa...

We then stopped by Anne's work chum Lorraine's house for a quick chat, as she and her husband are isolating...

They have a sign outside their house saying "Welcome to Bedford Falls", which, of course, references our afternoon entertainment...

...enjoyed with some refreshment...

Then, disaster...

We'd been waiting to hear the results of Olly's PCR re his flat-mates positivity...

It has not arrived...

However, now Kitty has tested positive and so tomorrow is off...

She popped by with her mum on the way for her own PDR to drop off loadsa food etc for tomorrow which, swiftly, will now be enjoyed at brother-in-law Keith's instead while Kitty, Jane, Bob and Olly isolate for 10 days...

Anne prepared a lovely Xmas Eve tea...

...and arrangements for tomorrow were firmed up...

Various things on telly were watched into the night (including "University Challenge") and I started off the recording of tomorrows final Eclectic Selection podcast of 2021, recoding the links both for that and for the third episode of my rundown of the top 100 LPs of 2021...

Before we knew it, it was almost midnight and so, off to bed, with everything ready ready for tomorrow...

Highlight of the Day : It's a Wonderful Life...
