Woke late, to the sounds of The Glitter Band, as my 70's singles playlist had taken me through the night...

I was on holiday today - it should have been all week but, due to pressure of work, this was downgraded to just one day...

So, after breakfast, again soundtracked by the 70's, we drove out beyond Balerno to Harperrig Reservoir in West Lothian, for a walk around...

It looked lovely but it was absolutely freezing cold...

The swans didn't seem to mind though...

It was muddy and slidey underfoot as we made our way round the ruined castle...

I ventured to the boats in the distance...

...but we never made it to the birdwatcher's hide, as the ground was just too wet...

Back we walked...

Perhaps we'll return in the summer...

We drove back towards Edinburgh and then to Threipmuir Reservoir but, due to a couple of complete bastards having parked their cars across two spaces, could not find anywhere to park...

We drove on and stopped instead at Harlaw Reservoir and had a walk round...

Again it was absolutely freezing, so we made our way back to the car and drove home, noting this for the summer too...

Lunch at home...

...followed by treats from the Village cake shop...

Some "Breaking Bad" and "Future Man" enjoyed, along with another visit from Fang...

...and then some record listening...

A tribute to Sir Michael Tippett, issued on EMI in 1984, his 80th year...

Bought 14/8/16 according to the receipt inside (along with a disc of wind trios)...

Great selection from 1963-67 with his Piano Sonatas Nos 1 & 2, played by John Ogden, and his 1st String Quartet (played by the Edinburgh Quartet) being my faves. So good, I recall I ordered the 2CD set the same day...

Just two records left to play now...

A tasty tea...

...was followed by some telly and some listening...

As is the way...

Highlight of the Day : Out and, indeed, about...
