Alice Cooper on the headphones overnight - I'd forgotten to set the timer, so had kept waking up to the sounds of the Coop - of course I could have just removed my earbuds I suppose...
Anyway, up early...
Just after awakening the machines, a blue screen of death...
Aargh...
Put together a fix and left it to it...
Downstairs for coffee...
Scenes...
...back upsatairs to find this...
All in all, around an hour before I was able to get back in...
This was a welcome sight...
Then, with Anne up super early for a Sunday - to the shops...
...and home, in around 45 minutes...
Anne's painting is really moving along...
Breakfast...
...also enjoyed by Fang...
At lunchtime - new visit time - so we can lunch together - out to my mum's with her shopping - including quite a few not on her list surprise exciting things...
Mainly chocolate based...
Her newly syringed ears stopped most of the need to repeat everything I said three times...
Which was good...
Back home and Anne was out with a recovered Lynn for a big walk...
I picked this at random to play and then struggled for ages to recall the name and artist of a similar record first heard in Amsterdam in 1982...
...which, after much thinking, blank drawing, more thinking and searching, I found...
Man Parrish's eponymous 1st LP...
The new cable arrived and so the sound system could be sorted...
Initial tryout - found to be top notch...
...and so, sorted...
The sun was streaming in on the new sound...
Also in B&W...
...and sans sun...
This was good on the new system...
Many are celebrating the 50th anniversary of its release this week - but the sleeve notes advise it was released in March 1971 not February...
Anne arrived home under these skies...
...as some Klaus Schulze was being enjoyed...
...followed by David Sylvian...
A query on the Twitter re yesterday's Tangerine Dream CD...
I explained it is an 80 minute compilation I made for a journalist friend (Martin Lennon), as a refresher when going to see them in 2008 and that we met Edgar post gig at the aftershow party...
I played the entire thing yesterday afternoon and it hangs together very nicely indeed, almost like a live set. It seems I burned it to the CD as one 80 min track. Tasty!
Other than that, tonight, baked potatoes for tea and the concluding episode of "Finding Alice" - which turned out not to be conclusive in any way shape or form and merely annoyed me for that...
Not holding my breath for the as yet uncommissioned second series...
Weekend over...
Highlight of the Day : Finalising the sound...
