A wee visitor this morning - Sid the Black Cat - Was thought to be male but is female - hence the misnomer...

Out to the doc, noting flowers and duck on the way...

All fine, home for breakfast, having also purchased some felt feet re hard drive vibration and new wee seat, with view to changing things in the computer room...

But, before that, off to Dumfries - a 1hr 45 min journey, soundtracked by a couple of my podcasts - Anne had never heard them before - for the reserve match between Queen of the South and Heart of Midlothian - two of the most romantically named clubs in football...

Lunch at the cafe before heading into the ground...

The rain was pelting as the players took to the pitch at 2pm...

A small crowd...

..and a surprisingly competitive match - 0-0 at half time and nothing in it...

There were quite a few "professionals" spectating - we could not see what this one was noting down...

A coffee at half time...

Both first team managers were in the dug outs, along with the reserve team coaches...

Just along from us, Gary Naismith, ex Queens manager was chatting to Norman Blount, ex Queens chairman...

Naismith is now Hearts loanee manager, looking after players who are out on loan - it turns out, even if they are, they can still play for the reserves - and so a few were doing so today for Hearts...

Midway through the half, Hearts scored two in two minutes...

With four minutes to go, Queens were on top play-wise and pulled one back but then Hearts made it three with the last kick of the game...

Full time 1-3...

Anne enjoyed seeing her team win for once...

Into the town centre in the still pouring rain...

...and, after a look round the shops and the purchase of a few CDs, we popped into Greggs for a warming coffee and a nice chocolate donut for Anne...

Mmm, tempting...

Anne had also bought some new paintbrushes for her project..

I liked the message on the back...

Not sure if I'll heed that...

Another 1hr 45 min drive back through the persistent rain - more podcast listening...

Not sure if Anne was too impressed with some of my choices...

Anyway, here are today's pickings, the lot for just 448 of your English new pence...

Upstairs to implement a no longer standing up scenario..

...before very much enjoying Anne's Spag Bog...

...and "University Challenge", 3rd with 100 points, before more work...

..and listening and reading, whilst seated...

It has to be said though that it's not the comfiest stool...

Late on, pulled the trigger on a couple of box sets in my basket at Amazon, including this, which I was able to download immediately...

...all prompted by the need to buy new ink for the printer...

That's how they hook you in...

Another good day...

Highlight of the Day : Roadtrip with Anne...
