First thing to compiling this week's podcast...

Whittling was required...

Anne was off out to the optician and so the podcast was recorded and uploaded...

Then, updating the red books of CDs I own, crashing through the 9,900 mark....

In the afternoon, out to visit my mum...

Here she is contemplating the Ship of Thesius...

...aka Trigger's Broom...

The Exec Producer was also involved in the thinking...

Mum was more interested in reading out a letter about the cost of her Radio Times going up than considering my theory of why it is that time seems to go by more quickly as you get older - i.e. you do more stuff you've already done, your brain doesn't need to process so much information and so time appears to go by more quickly...

For example, this is why on a journey to somewhere you've never been, the journey back always seems shorter...

Anyway, here she is with her letter...

On the way home, a stop off at B&Q to obtain paint for the bathroom and to consider different shades of blue...

Some CD listening - the string quartets of Hummel followed by Natalie Merchant...

I have owned this cheeky wee trilogy for more years than I care to remember but never listened to it properly, until my recent charity shop acquisition of a 10,000 Maniacs compilation somehow alerted me to the attractiveness of her vocal delivery. I like it...

And some Miles and Trane, courtesy of brother in law Keith;'s move to the dark side of music listening, i.e. streaming...

Then, another tasty tea - steak and chips with babycorn, carrots, mushrooms and onions...

Yum...

Late on, revised my 1969 playlist...

...up to 112 (formerly 90 - fixed a couple of errors and had a further trawl) some of the omissions were so glaring I don't know how I missed them but listening to Sid Smith's podcast re 1969 music earlier today got me to looking again and finding around 15 previously missing titles. Also removed a few which were actually 1968 or 1970 that had slipped in...

The film "The Big Short" entertained this evening...

About the few people who saw the crash of 2007/8 coming - and made quite a bit out of it...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day : 1969...
