Up just after six, the cats were quiet but not for long...

Coffee, ripping, listening to the funk and updating this...

...and updating my compilation of Roy Wood singles which was found on Xmas Eve to have some considerable holes in it...

Nico the Mischievous Kitten was "helping"...

Also updated my list of Xmas Acquisitions, now spanning the years 1973-2018...

...and put together a possible podcast line up for the last show of the year, featuring albums released in 2018 by artists unknown to me prior to the start of 2018...

At 2, took Anne to her mum's for today's glorious win by the JT's over Hamilton Academical, 2-0...

Back to the cats, more ripping and listening - there are 22 CDs in the Haydn String Quartet box - by the time I was ready to head round to Jane and Bob's, I'd managed to get 11 done...

Fed the cats and left them to their devices...

Jane's stage was set and we waited the other arrivals...

Kitty was first, returning from taking Rafa round to Bob's mum's for the evening...

Maureen was next - like me, not at the game...

Bob and Olly arrived from the game...

Keith and Craig arrived from the game...

Anne and her mum arrived from the game...

Which let the better games begin...

This year's calendar for Mary was a hit...

As ever, Jane excelled herself with a superb demonstration of culinary delights...

Prawn cocktail with crab meat...

Venison Wellington, with duck fat roasted potatoes, Yorkshire Puddings, Kilted Pigs...

...a whole cauliflower cooked in spices with cheese sauce added at the last moment...

...and a further rack of venison...

Puddings were roulade and trifle...

Bob's cheeseboard then made it to the table, each row , a different cheese...

..I had to make a temporary exit from the table due to the stench of one particular, unidentified, cheese...

The music, from Kitty's new phone, was entirely appropriate - it may well have been what that cheese was made of...

Finally, the piece de resistance...

A game where you put Craig's mobile phone to your head and everyone else sees the name of a song (the most popular thing to be guessed) or an animal or a type of food, or a film etc etc and everyone else has to try and convey to you what it was...

Top notch...

Proceedings ended around 10:30 and it was off home...

Once again the house was stunk out by the bottoms of the beasts but so it goes when you are looking after cats...

Today's artwork, "Guessing the Name of a Song"...

Highlight of the Day : Partying at the Gourlays...
