Up at six and three hours flew by as I downloaded and listened to the works of Thomas Bjørnseth, who runs atonality.net, which feeds interesting contemporary classical music pieces into my timeline on Twitter every day...

Breakfast at nine...

A rarity these days, toast...

...and eggs...

This week, I had my cholesterol tested and it's down from where it was last May.  The doc advises no treatment (i.e. statins for the rest of my life) and to keep doing what I've been doing to reduce it...

Marco Minnemann and fifties doo wop soundtracked...

Coffee...

Outside, Anne's hanging bucket of flowers is thriving...

Inside, post breakfast, the EP had decided to clean the kitchen...

We don't eat much toast these days but this is what was inside the toaster, crumbs-wise...

I made an exit...

...and drove to pick up amended glasses and provisions for lunch...

I noted in Asda that their selection of CDs in their huge store is now reduced to just this...

Oh dear...

Provisions secured...

A stop off in Leith Walk on the way home...

To Elvis Shakespeare...

...and 4 CDs acquired for just seven of your English pounds...

This, for three of those pounds...

...reminded me, when listening a couple of hours later, that it's five years to the day since Dr Prog and I witnessed ELP's final gig at High Voltage in London,,.

This, with a disc which has perhaps seen better times but plays ok and which also accounted for three of the seven...

...rocks- and features, along with members of the Exploited, one "D Reilly" on "Synth Effect"...

Recorded overnight one night in November 1983 - I recall an anxious Anne wondering if I'd been abducted and being mightily relieved (and somewhat annoyed) when I appeared back at our flat around 6 in the morning, having left at 8 the night before...

My contribution lasts all of 45 seconds...

And, for 50p each, this - the singer from Slow Children, of whom you've no doubt never heard - their single "Talk About Horses" was a favourite of mine in 1981 or so...

...and this - even though I now realise it's on one of my hard drives already...

A former fave of the EP...

Home for lunch in the garden...

...the new specs assisting...

Listening to the new acquisitions in the afternoon whilst keeping an eye on Queens' first competitive game of the season - only three 1st team players remain from last season...

They defeated "local" rivals Stranraer 2-0 in the 1st round of the Petrofac Cup...

A downpour ensued...

...while Anne had accomplished her goals in the kitchen...

Later on, listening to a Tubes concert from July 1981 - they are back in Europe this year and we will see them in August...

A relaxing evening of Tivo and TV - "Trust Me I'm a Doctor" showed how I can reduce my Cholesterol further, "New Girl" and Glee-a-like film "Pitch Perfect", also entertained...

Around midnight, caught up with tonight's playback of the 40th Anniversary edition of King Crimson's 1975 live album, "USA", co-ordinated on Facebook by chum Sid Smith...

I have this as one of the discs in the massive "The Road to Red" box set - my copy of the album itself is the 30th Anniversary Edition, which includes overdubs on three tracks by Eddie Jobson and takes a couple of tracks including "21st Century Schizoid Man" from the Providence gig rather than Asbury Park - the 40th anniversary version is all Asbury Park and reinstates the concert running order...

OK that's probably too much detail...

Suffice to say, it was an excellent concert...

A good day then...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day :  Everything...
