Up around 6:30 and working on can't remember what but, no doubt, something completely inconsequential...

Out and drove with Anne over to "the Saturday Place" on a cold autumn morning...

A five mile walk ensued...

To the library via Blackwells Books - nothing borrowed, nothing purchased...

Down Victoria St to the Grassmarket - Avalanche not open yet...

...but some Halloween decorations in shop windows...

Up to the West Port and round to McAllister Matheson - no purchases...

Round under the Castle...

...to the Farmers' Market - no produce partaken of...

Down Lothian Road, along Queensferry Street and Road and over the Dean Bridge...

Good views...

...and down towards Stockbridge - looking down and over to Fettes...

Into one of the most coveted addresses in the city, Ann Street...

...and approaching Stockbridge on the opposite bank of the Water of Leith from our usual route...

...but arriving at our usual breakfast haunt and our having our usual breakfast...

Back out into the cold...

...past St Stephen's Church...

..and up into the city and over George St...

...and along to Fopp where a stupid £3 purchase of a French CD took place...

Over Waverley Bridge...

...and round Jeffrey Street...

...down St Mary's Street and up towardas St Leonard's, past the shop of a wine merchant who owns David Reilly's painting "Untitled No 1" (1993)...

..and finally, under a cold sun...

...back to the car and home...

In the afternoon Anne watched hearts secure a last gasp equaliser in a 2-2 draw with Ross County while I sorted out some CDs and generally wasted my time..

In the evening, a curry and "Strictly" and "Merlin" entertained on another quiet night in...

Highlight of the day : Walk about...
