A morning of quick packing for a weekend away...

Lynn's sister, Joan was coming to stay with Meg the Black Cat...

Meg was looking forward to that...

We were off to the airport around midday - in hindsight probably too early, considering we had no luggage to check into the hold...

An uneventful flight...

...other than the landing...

Now we know how Barnes Wallis' bouncing bombs must have felt...

Out into Belgium and, contrary to the forecast, bright and sunny weather...

A 45 minute bus trip to the centre of Bruxelles...

...where this tram carried our old address...

Picked up the keys no problem, got to the flat...

...unpacked and out to a nearby bar we'd sourced on the net...

...which we didn't like the look of...

Instead we decided on Le Coq...

Top bar!

The Exec Producer went for the white wine, while your correspondent had a wee bit of an early evening beer fest...

Out into the cold and past the Bourse...

...through the Grand Place...

...to a nice wee bistro for dinner...

...and yet another different beer...

..which may have caused some blurriness...

Then, back to Le Coq...

But this time, for some lovely strong Belgian coffee...

An enjoyable day...

The beast was looking not bad, if I say so myself...

Home past historic churches...

Some TV, finally finding that Scotland had lost to Wales 2-1 after having been 1-0 up with ten minutes to go and having had a perfectly good second goal disallowed...

A penalty and a last minute wonder strike, both from Mr Bale, put paid to our chances...

Off to bed...

Highlight of the Day : Start of a celebratory weekend...
