Up at six and bringing this up to date...

Possibly too many photos but then, I pay to put as many as I want up so why not...

As is her wont, Meg the Black helped out...

After breakfast, I ventured forth into Edinburgh, having left it too late to make any kind of arrangement with Dr Prog...

My plan was to park the car and carry out a round trip which would add a good five miles to today's walking total...

Down the bridges...

...past Surgeons' Hall...

...and the Festival Theatre...

...and Varsity Music Shop...

...where, around this time forty years ago, I purchased "Love it to Death" by Alice Cooper and "The Magician's Birthday" by Uriah Heep...

Past the University...

...and up Chambers Street to George IV Bridge...

Into the music library to return Dr Prog's Kraftwerk book - loaned to me a fortnight ago and at which I must confess I have not looked...

I do not read much in the way of physical stuff these days...

The library is selling off some withdrawn items - I picked up a CD by Fifers Saint Jude's Infirmary, of whom apparently Jack Vettriano and Ian Rankin are fans...

I must admit that, upon having listened to their album, their sub-par Velvet Underground/Nick Cave impressions with pseudo American accents, has not endeared me to them...

It was only 60p though...

Back out...

...and down Victoria Street

...and through the Grassmarket to Avalanche..

...under the castle...

Wandered about with Roger Eno, Chicago and Buffalo Springfield in my hand for a while before putting them all back and heading to McAllister Matheson...

...where a disc of superb 18th Century Italian Violin Concertos was added to the collection - previously spotted but not purchased, earlier this week...

To the Farmer's Market and bought some tasty looking sausages to take home for lunch...

...before heading back to Avalanche...

..and buying the Eno disc...

back through the Grassmarket (having decided to head home and cut my planned walk in two)...

..back past the foot of Victoria Street...

..and up through Greyfriars, stopping into the Shelter shop and partaking of two disc set of Euphoric white labels...

Through the University district...

...to the street which last housed Reptile Records...

..in this shop...

...and back to the car...

...past the former art gallery where I exhibited in 1993...

Hmmm...

Into the car below Arthur's Seat...

..and a twenty minute drive home...

..maintaining my non-speeding scenario, in place since March 2011...

Back home, fired up the CD Walkman and took a walk around the environs listening to Saint Jude's infirmary...

What's this?

Well, hello Mr Squirrel...

Nice trees for you to play in...

...and no chance of being caught by this lazy beastie...

In the evening, down to John and Ali impossible Songs for their farewell to Abercorn get-together slash John's birthday party...

The last bonfire entertained...

..and there was much drinking and carousing...

...with children percussionists...

..and adult twangers and strummers...

This young lady may well have been better than your correspondent...

...on the old percussioning front...

A good night and home just beyond midnight...

Highlight of the day : Abercorn farewell...

Hi, thanks for the birthday pics and nice comments, you've maxed out on your blog photo capacity by the looks of it.

P.S. I may share a few of your photos on Facebook if you're ok with that.
