Cloudland Blue Quartet – Splinterheart
Yep, yet another scorcher...
Finally decided on the running order for the new LP and, this evening, with Anne out on the ran-dan with chums from work, it was an ideal opportunity to get some work done...
The lead vocal for “Hurt Heart Hardened” was successfully re-recorded, with the previous vocal now used as a quieter double tracking device – a remix was undertaken and deemed reasonably successful...
A couple of lines in “Here They Come with the New Machines” were re-sung, this time in tune, and two backing vocals were added – the mix however, remains rather rough...
“The Eternal Optimist” was remixed, taking the vocals down in volume...
The vocal for “The Cage of Expectation” was re-recorded but, ultimately, rejected - the track has reverted to instrumental status...
And so, the latest version of the LP was burned for listening and, sadly, found still to be needing some tweaking and some ideas added...
It was listened to in the car as I drove to and from Fife to pick up the Exec Producer, who was, surprisingly, not the worse for wear...
A productive evening...
