Various Composers - 111 years of Deutsche Grammophon
The Damned - Damned Damned Damned
Handel - Serse
Handel - Rinaldo
Various - Pulp Fusion Bustin' Loose
A new display at Fopp caught my eye today - almost all the titles from Sony's Opera House series - classic renditions of operas on two and three disc sets - doubles were £3 while triples were £5...
Along with albums by the Damned and Bob Dylan and a 2CD compilation of "ghetto jazz and funk classics", I bought Handel's "Serse" (1738)...
Before heading home though, I returned and added a further three 3CD Handel sets to my haul, "Rinaldo" (1711), "Tamerlano" (1724) and "Partenope" (1730)...
I am a fan of Mr Handel but, until today, did not own any of his 42 operas...
Now I have four, spread over 12 discs - I wonder how many times I'll listen to them...
The Damned's 31 minute LP brought back fond memories of the height of punk rock in 1976/7...
In the evening, I took Anne into town to meet Lynn for drinks and carousing...
It was a beautiful summer evening and so I took the first real opportunity I've had to take some pics with the new camera - all in all 110 photos were added to the collection today...
Prior to leaving, there had to be a few portraits of Meg the Black Cat of course...
Then, the garden...
...and Anne as she left the house...
Post Exec Producer drop off, soundtracked by "Serse", I headed towards the Gallery of Modern Art...
...where this squirrel was scampering around in the grounds...
Then, I drove down to South Queensferry and parked outside the Hawes Inn, which sits under the Forth Railway Bridge...
Over the road, this wee dog was playing on the beach...
...and of course I had to capture the two bridges, rail...
...and road...
This gull seemed to be watching me from its perch on a nearby lamp-post...
The pier is home to the RNLI life boat and its raggedy flag...
I liked this old clock on the side of the Hawes Inn, stopped at 3:57...
...and I liked this post - here's the top, stained by the sea...
Some rungs up its side (possibly my fave pic of the evening)...
And a couple of plaques of some sort, seemingly alluding to something which took place in May 1999, reference JL...
As I drove back to Edinburgh, I stopped off and took some pictures of the countryside...
Nice trees...
A nice sign and a nice black Cloudland Blue Mobile...
More nice trees - I do like a nice tree...
Finally, back at Crispycat Towers, the bees were busy pollenating...
Inside, I awaited Anne's call for the inevitable lift home...
I passed the time by creating this post, whilst enjoying more of Mr Handel's tunes, continuing with "Serse" and then dipping into "Rinaldo"...
The pick up trip, to and from Amicus Apple around 11:30, was soundtrack by some funky trax...
Another happy day...
Highlight of the Day : Taking some pictures, listening to some opera...

A great set of pics Mr.CBQ. I particularly liked the shot of Meg on the floor and the Forth Bridge. Have you got yourself a new camera or something???
A Samsung Bridge - their WB5000 - still getting to grips but not a patch on yours - I also took some chimney pot shots trying to emulate your famous "tops of buildings" ouevre...
Agree. Really nice set of pics.
Cheers John - mind you if you take enough, you have to hope a few will be good LOL!
