Meg the Black Cat likes to sit on a towel and fully believes it belongs to her...

Meanwhile, my new LP will be my eighth song-based album since "becoming" Cloudland Blue Quartet in the summer of 1996...

This morning I worked out I could put all ten CDs (the first release was a triple CD set) on to one MP3 CD...

So I did that...

I also compiled a 24 song disc of three songs from each album determined on the basis of their being the shortest three songs on each...

So that took up the first few hours after rising around 5:50...

Then it was time to chop down the plant which has clung to the back of our garage for as long as I can remember - we will soon be in receipt of a new garage roof and, sadly, the plant had to go...

And so, it duly went – with the big beastie being deposited over the fence into the building site near our house which is what was once a further education college and its lush green grounds...

Its removal uncovered a large number of my wee snail friends...

Meg was surprised at the absence of the plant...

Despite it being a beautiful day, I spent the majority of the rest of it indoors...

Spent some time this afternoon concocting a cover for what I am now calling "Splinterheart", the third working title for the new LP...

And also added a pic of sister Pam to her birthday card for tomorrow...

In the evening, I drove to our favourite Chinese takeaway, which moved to the other side of town a few years ago, and collected a tasty treat which was consumed whilst watching this week’s “Dr Who”...

Then it was time for England’s first game in the World Cup...

They didn’t really play that well, apart from scoring inside four minutes; and Rob Green’s error just before the break, which allowed the USA to score when they ought not to have, nonetheless probably put a fair reflection on the play at half time...

Though the media will crucify him, had he not made a brilliant save in the second half, then, given England’s lack of ability to create any further real chances, Green probably saved them from a defeat which, rather patronisingly towards the Americans, the English would have no doubt described as “humiliating”...

“Law and Order” finished off a day which left us both with sore arms from pulling the plant from the garage wall...

Highlight of the Day : Dr Who...
