Up at seven and listening to Asia whilst reading up on the city and its history...

Breakfast around nine...

Out to the nearby park...

...then walked down to the banks of the Danube as the overcast weather turned again to rain...

Along the river bank into the old town, spotting the various famous statues (no pics yet) as we headed toward Tourist Information...

Through the palaces back to the main square and stopped for a coffee/white chocolate with caramel (like chocolate custard) at Maximillian Schoko delicatessen, before walking the length of the longest street and back again...

Up the hill to the castle...

...which is under renovation but whose battlements afforded some excellent views of the city...

Back down the hill and up to the President’s Palace...

...before heading home for lunch...

A quick shop again, this time at “Billa”, followed by beers at home then an hour or so back at the park, reading our books (mine being a biography of the Blue Note label) in the warmth of the returned sun...

Home again before heading back to the old town for dinner at the Slovakian Cellar – Moravian Schnitzel for me and a pork, spicy sausage and bacon concoction for Anne...

A leisurely walk home and a bit of telly rounded off the night...

Highlight of the Day : Relaxing in the park...
