Up later today for a bit of a less hectic time due to the impact of bad weather...

Breakfast of lovely brown bread and cheese and ham then out and walked to the central market for a look round but it appeared to have been taken over by the Slovak equivalent of “Strictly Come Dancing”...

Just round the corner though was “Hummel”, a CD shop/Musical Instrument Museum...

Bought two discs of Concerti Grossi by Georg Muffat, recorded right here in Bratislava in 93/94 – Muffat, whose dad was a Scot, wrote and performed around these parts in the 1600s...

To Tourist Info again with questions about Airport Buses, trains to Vienna and any other markets that hadn’t been turned into Dance Ballrooms...

Apparently there was one out in the suburbs, so we took the bus...

...but, inevitably, missed our stop and had to walk back seeking directions from a kind young Slovakian girl with an excellent command of English (unlike ours of her native tongue)...

The market was a colourful mix of fruit, flowers, clothes, shoes, accessories and a plethora of food and drink stalls...

Nothing tempted us however and we soon made our way home, ironically stopping off at “Billa” for some lunch provisions which, along with a couple of hours laze around the flat, we enjoyed to the sounds of Herr Muffat...

Of course, just as we decided to go out, the rain started again....

By the time we were approaching the old town, it was pouring so we sought refuge at Café Vienna for some ice cream...

...before heading over to “My” for a browse around the well stocked department store...

I found a lead which would allow the jukebox to be played via the hi-fi in the apartment...

Back home through the rain and we listened to the jukebox whilst watching Arsenal v Blackburn on TV before heading back out again for dinner...

I’d spotted an Indian restaurant in a guidebook but we couldn’t seem to find it and so, thoroughly soaked by now, we headed to Tulipan Kebap...

...where we sat in the window enjoying a couple of very tasty wraps before crossing the road to the Slovak Pub for a couple of beers...

When we emerged, the rain had finally stopped and lo and behold, we found the Indian, noting its location for another night...

Home to the TV, jukebox and bed...

Highlight of the Day : Busy doing nothing to the music of Herr Muffat...
