Up early and to the dentist – the same one I’ve had since around 1973...

I used to fear the dentist but now I just project myself forward in time to the point where I’m emerging and nothing untoward has happened...

To the offices of “The Man” despite being on holiday – young Gillian was leaving today and I wanted to say a personal “goodbye” as well as giving her a copy of the, as yet unreleased, best of CBQ compilation – she is a fan apparently...

Then, a walk through the cold up to the music library to meet a tardy Dr Prog – held up due to ice rink conditions around Progville – indeed Mrs Prog had to stay at home today, unable to venture forth due to lack of confidence re falling over and doing herself a mischief...

The Move and Henry Cow were returned and discs by Tarwater, Iron & Wine, Wooden Shijps and Carl Craig/Mortitz von Oswald were borrowed...

The Exec Producer met up with us around 12:30 and we proceeded to Café St Giles for some lunch...

...before heading down The Royal Mile, down Cockburn St (stopping off at Avalanche), over Waverley Bridge, across Princes St and to, surprise, surprise, FOPP...

Despite having been here just two days ago, I managed to find four CDs to take home...

In addition, Anne purchased a French movie (“Gabrielle”) on DVD...

Bidding farewell to Dr Prog (who took the ELP DVD I got on Monday) we traipsed along to the car and drove home...

In the warmth of the living room, we watched a delightful French comedy, “Apres Vous”, before I got down to listening to today’s acquisitions while Anne prepared to venture out into the horrible weather to see Hearts play Motherwell at Tynecastle...

A 1-0 win, making it three wins in a row as they head to easter Road for the New Year derby on Sunday...

More music - bring on The Wooden Shijps, Focus and Santana...

A good day (despite ongoing annoying cold symptoms) was brought to a close with a listen to my Album of the Year...

Highlight of the Day : Apres vous...
