Started the day with a veritable feast of Emerson Lake and Palmer – most of what they did post 1973’s “Brain Salad Surgery” was, of course, tosh...

Out shopping in the snow and ice – me to PC World for ink, Anne to Tesco for festive provisions re upcoming visits...

The car almost got stuck in Tesco’s car park, seemingly unable to move forwards or backwards – eventually I think the spinning tyres wore the ice down...

A blizzard ensued as we arrived back home...

Once again marooned, the Cloudland Blue Mobile was stranded on ice at right angles to the road, facing the garage but unable to gain enough of a hold to be propelled into its home...

Much spreading of grit and salt, digging and scraping ensued whilst the snow relentlessly snowed...

Eventually, success was achieved and we retired to the warmth of Crispycat Towers for the remainder of the day...

Meg the Black Cat perused the cold conditions from the safety of the window ledge...

My annual Festive Season Cold (© CBQ 2005) has now kicked in big style – it originally raised its head on 18 December, then seemed to disappear – since Boxing Day however, it’s back with a vengeance...

Spent the afternoon coughing and sneezing, whilst ensuring all CDs acquired in 2009 (see list below) were ripped to the hard drive and held in a handy folder, snappily entitled “2009”...

Meanwhile, Anne was creating yet another giant lasagne, this time for this evening’s visit from the Kingdom of Fife by her work colleague and chum Chris...

Most of the banter was Chris/Anne work-related and your correspondent was an unintentional damp squib due to lurgi and general weariness...

Driving, and with work beckoning tomorrow, Chris was not drinking and left at the reasonably early hour of 10 – leaving the Exec Producer to watch “QI”, while Mr CBQ snored loudly from the sofa...

A tiring day...

Highlight of the Day : Into the warmth, out of the snow...
