Up at 6am with an idea to compile a disc of unreleased or rare versions of CBQ stuff as the third disc of a compilation of purely CBQ from 1996-2009...

I accidentally disturbed the ends of all the new strings on my guitars and this caught Meg the Black cat’s attention – whereupon she tried to claw and eat the strings – which was a bit dangerous...



No harm done thankfully...

Back to the project in hand - I’ve already compiled a disc each of songs and soundscapes and the third disc was going to contain a mixture of both, highlighting one track from each of the seventeen albums recorded since the summer of 1996 when I assumed the CBQ moniker...

I have some interesting pieces on the hard drives...

We’ll see...

Then, listening to CDs previously borrowed from the library and those taken out yesterday – I discovered I already borrowed the Rosenmuller disc back in March and the Garbarek is a wee bit too easy listening...

The new meerkat greeted us downstairs...



And our own wee meerkat was there too...



Out at 9:15 to Patisserie Florentin for breakfast with Anne...



What a change in the weather from yesterday’s stormy conditions...



Back home around 10:30 and I set about recording acoustic versions of the Soundingfall setlist for 4 November – this will form the seventeenth in the ongoing series of Cloudland Blue Quartet live performance souvenirs...

By 4:30, I had recorded 10 songs from scratch, featuring two guitars and two voices on each track, reflecting as far as possible what my collaboration with Mr Peri Urban will sound like...

They will be available for download over the next day or so...

At present, the set includes eight songs from “Soundingfall” and the two new songs “Never or Now” and “I Walk to the Beat of a Cold Broken Heart”...

To Anne’s mum’s for tea – a special birthday meal for sisters-in-law Jane and Maureen, both of whom celebrate their birthdays on 10 October...

Back home to post production work on today’s recordings and then “Match of the day 2”...
