Up at the very crack of dawn - in fact, before that - and put together some goodies from Mr Glass and UK for today's meet with Dr Prog...

Obtained some provisions before heading into the city, leaving the Exec Producer snoozing...

Met the progmeister at the Music Library and enjoyed browsing through their massive collection...

Borrowed a couple of jazz titles from Messrs Corea (which, unfortunately, has some vocalising included) and Garbarek and also partook of some tasty classical offerings...

More from Mr Glass, a rare disc with music by Frederic Rzewski, whom Dr Prog and I saw perform back in February 2007, a wonderful disc of improvisations by viola da gamba specialist Paolo Pandolfo and his band and some delightful 17th Century sonatas and sinfonies by German composer Johan Rosenmuller...

To Uncle T's for a coffee and some midday sustenance...

The man in charge is now Uncle I, having purchased the business from Uncle T a few months ago - he's keeping the name though...

To nearby Assembly at the University...

...to see if Phil Prog can organise his work's Xmas night out...

He'll receive a call back...

Then, down through the Grassmarket, heading for Charlotte Square and the Cloudland Blue Mobile - the Progmobile is having to be put to sleep after failing its MOT today - end of an era...

A furry Meerkat was purchased for Annie (pic soon) - she loves meerkats - then, to Red Dog Music, where Mr CBQ bought strings for two acoustic guitars and an electric guitar - along with a guitar tuner...

After taking Phil to the location of his dead car, I headed home and spent the majority of the afternoon restringing the three guitars while listening to my newly borrowed music...

Once the stringing was accomplished, I ran through the set of next month's gig...

Meanwhile, both Hearts and QoS were losing, to St Mirren and Morton respectively - Queens went 3-0 down and managed to get back to 3-2 but it was, to coin a phrase, too little too late...

St Mirren came from behind to beat Hearts 2-1 - they have been trying to win a game at their new stadium since last season - typical that Hearts should be the team to capitulate...

Spent the evening in the living room, watching "Merlin" (accompanied by a tasty Chinese meal), then had one eye on "Strictly Come Dancing" while listening to a Rheos concert from 1992 and bidding and buying on e-bay using Anne's laptop...

A Rzewski DVD is winging its way to Crispycat Towers from the far east as I type...

Another fine Saturday was brought to a close with "Match of the Day"...

Highlight of the Day : A meet with Dr Prog / Guitars restrung at long last...
