At odds with the jury, at odds with the public...

Playlist

Big playlist today as I started by playing two tracks each from all the compilations bought 8 days ago plus a track each from yesterday's acquisitions...

And then, post some money stuff at the foot of the hill with Annie...

...I headed into town for a wander, soundtracked by the last 800 or so acquisitions on shuffle...

There was a fruitless search for a Richard Coles book for Anne, as the shuffleplay shuffled on...

I did, however, find four things for me...

A 4CD set of Italian disco covers (£1.50)...

A David Essex Greatest Hits "plus" set, released to tie in with his musical, back in 2008 (50p)...

The soundtrack to "Grease", which I don't think I've ever owned before (50p)...

And the 2CD set from a few years back by Frost*, which I had already as a download from the time of its release (£1)...

Headed home...

...to the final plays...

...and got there in time for the FA Cup Final, which was soundtracked by the first three of the above items, via the pink Walkman..

A glorious 1-0 win for Crystal Palace over Manchester City, made all the sweeter as City had a penalty, which should never have been given, saved...

So good to see football triumphing over money for once...

Then "Dr Who" -  a tie in with Eurovision, which turned out to be far better than expected...

And, to end the day, actual "Eurovision"...

Surprisingly, UK were 10th post the jury votes...

The public, however, gave us and Switzerland, zero further points but, strangely, boosted Israel from 15th to the top slot, until Austria won on the final announcement of votes - thank heavens (even though I did not particularly like it)...

My Top 5 were Luxembourg (22nd), UK (19th), Malta (17th), Denmark (23rd) and Switzerland (10th)...

...while I ranked the actual top five (out of 26) as 20th (Austria), 25th (Israel), 26th (Estonia), 24th (Sweden) and 9th (Italy)...

I got France exactly right at 7th...the rest I ranked between 21 places higher and 23 places lower than the juries and voting audience...

At odds with the jury, at odds with the public...

But I am correct!

Although Austria's was growing on me...

To bed at midnight...

Highlight of the Day : Eurovision...
