66 today…
Feels like 666…
Slept in - last night had been hellish - I did not get to sleep until beyond 2am, due to clomping from the apartment above...
It looks like a one room house has been built on top of our apartment…
Up around 8:15…
Did not write up yesterday…
A card from Anne and some Brian Eno…
A reminder taken that we spent yesterday afternoon monitoring the football scores - you can see them on yesterday's entry…
Rain forecast never really materialised other than very briefly later…
Out at 9:30 and wandering looking for breakfast…
Over towards Trindade and a big open air ceremony for those graduating from University was taking place…
We walked past and on to Flores, where we found a place…
Onwards, visiting a couple of markets, including one from Wednesday but the stall Anne was looking for was not present today…
We noted Henry the Navigator outside...
...and ended up spending an informative hour in the old customs house at Casa do Infante…
Which also took us out of the only rain of the day…
Many insights into Portugal’s history enjoyed…
Walked along to the bridge...
...and over the lower span…
Back along the bank...
...to the Mercado Municipal da Beira Rio and lunch enjoyed there for a second day...
...followed by strawberries...
...and the walk back over the bridge…
...then made our way via the usual long walk, to the apartment, and home at 3, where a birthday treat was enjoyed on the balcony…
At 5:30 back out - my right ear, which has been playing up recently and needs to be looked at, was completely blocked…
Another visit to Aduela for beers...
...then, to Mexican, Callejero for dinner just before 7 - lovely guacamole, a burrito for me and unpictured tacos for Anne…
The final walk home at 8...
...was followed by two final “Criminal Intent”, before bed at 10, with the alarm set for 3:30…
Highlight of the Day : Henri’s place…

Belated birthday wishes - nice to get away to celebrate and also delve into the local history, by the looks of it.
Cheers Johnny B - yep - a good trip indeed...
