First thing, editing the podcast and uploading it...
First thing, editing the podcast and uploading it...
Out for provisions, noting the blooming garden...
On my return, Fang was almost going to pay us a visit until chased by the neighbours' dog...
Breakfast at home, during which a call from my mum - ill in the night and not feeling great therefore, for the third week in a row, our trip to look at rollators postponed...
I drove over to see her in any case...
I made a swift stop at a record stall at the Meadows Festival - we will make a full visit tomorrow - and picked up a few bargains at £2 each...
Mum was ok but looked a wee bit yellow...
Turns out the doc was round on Monday re her blood results and something liver related...
Left around 1:30 to head home...
A quick turnaround and out and over to Leith to meet up with Keith and Maureen for some music at the Leith Jazz Festival...
Rod McKuen in the car - a purchase kind of inspired by Terry Jacks' "Seasons in the Sun" having popped up on shuffle this morning...
Mr M's work was not appreciated by the EP...
I had to agree - it's one of those (many) recordings best listened to in private, on your own, probably on headphones, without anyone else knowing what you're listening to...
To the Brig Bar on Leith Walk and Tin Roof in the Brig Below - an excellent little venue...
At first enjoyable - but, after 95 minutes of "the blues", we were starting to wilt and made our exit...
Seldom have I longed so much for the "and this is our last song" announcement - which, on this occasion, no doubt came long after we'd exited...
A walk through the rain...
To Sofi's - female vocals and jazz guitar - we sat outside the silent-but-for-the-jazz bar to chat...
Then, to Finn & Bear - again a girl singer and a guitar - we headed through the back and enjoyed a tasty meal...
To the Lioness...
...passing these...
Here, we were joined by Rebecca and Murray - cocktails were enjoyed...
...and advice of signs was, in the main, adhered to...
Old Out of the Bedroom cohort John Hunt was playing here - gruffer blues than Tin Roof...
At nine, all bluesed out for the day we made our way home...
Message on the phone to say mum's carer this evening had also noted a yellow pallor and had called NHS 24 - mum was waiting on a call back...
Four hours later, it came and she was advised someone would be making a visit and she should stay up...
I retired, awaiting a call if anything untoward came of said visit - as of now (next morning) no word...
Today's artwork, "Don't Be a Dick"...
Highlight of the Day : Out and about...
