Up early, listening to Pink Floyd re the book by Nick Mason, the current read...

To the local grocery store for supplies...

...and back home for breakfast...

...on the balcony...

The views...

We'd decided to have a relaxed day today, just taking in the sights of Baden Baden...

A walk down the hill...

Mmm, Cafe König...

The Roman Baths - which we never got round to visiting properly...

An art gallery, with a feature on Udo Lindenberg's work...

A statue to Bismarck...

Beautiful Black Forest buildings...

We will see the NDT tomorrow...

Anne reckoned this might be a good outfit for me for nephew Ali's upcoming wedding...

Over to the gardens by the River Oos...

...and the Trinkhalle - where once waters were taken, now the Tourist Info centre...

Some info partaken of, before walking on...

...and a well earned seat outside the Casino...

The views...

...including looking back to the Trinkhalle...

...and forward to the open air Konzertmuschel beim Kurhaus...

More views...

We climbed the steps up to the Town Hall...

...and on to the Stiftkirche...

...the New Palace...

..and a stage where Shakespeare would be performed this evening...

On to the Gesellschaft der Freunde junger Kunst Baden-Baden, Modern Art Gallery...

...for an exhibition of photography and art by Irene & Stefanie Hauger...

This was not art but could have been...

A quick look in the church...

...with its impressive organ...

...and back down to the town...

...for lunch...

..and people watching...

Back to the balcony for a rest and refreshments...

...before venturing out again into the heat...

...to the Kunsthalle...

...which adjoins the Museum Frieder Burda, again Modern Art...

To the Kunsthalle Cafe...

...and out onto the terrace for drinks...

...before a talk (with examples) on Jazz by Thomas Neuhauser...

...fish was available but we stuck to the biers...

Much of the music quoted on Herr Neuhaser's site is in my own collection - perhaps a podcast could be produced...

Eventually, after around 90 of the allotted 120 minutes, it all got too much for the EP...

...and so, we exited before full time...

A walk through the park, noting these monkeys enjoying the sun...

Back to the town...

...and wurst for tea, accompanied by these freakish dinner companions...

Then, a concert of music by, mostly, Johann and Josef Strauss back at the Konzertmuschel beim Kurhaus...

...followed by a long walk home around the back of the town...

We ended up descending steps to the apartment instead of climbing, noting this wee chum on the way...

Back home at last...

...to the Petite Bellevue...

First full, packed, day over...

Artwork of the day, "Forbidden Fruit (and Cake)"...

Highlight of the Day : Getting our bearings...
