Up early and everything closed down and, then, out for a road trip...

First stop, Biggar and the Aroma Cafe...

On down the road, next stop Lancaster, for a look around in the rain but, first, lunch...

I have coveted a fish finger sandwich for a while - today I got one - although the fingers were actually small pieces of fish, rather than actual fish fingers...

Very tasty nonetheless...

On around the town...

Picturesque...

The Priory...

The courts...

A headless statue...

Something off in the distance that we didn't quite reach...

The courts and Priory again...

Surrounded by beautiful terraced houses...

...and affording excellent views...

The jail is around the other side of the courts...

Onward through the town - the Town Hall...

...and, facing it, an imposing statue of Queen Victoria...

The spire of this nearby Church also impressed...

At two...

...time to head on down to Manchester and, by 4pm we were on a bus heading into town post hotel check in...

To the Vinyl Exchange...

...which appears to have gone nuts for vinyl - even the bargains were a fiver at least - vinyl buyers are crazy...

However, I bagged these, smaller, better sounding items...
Next door to Night and Day for the first drinks of the trip...

...and perusing the purchases...

A quick mosey around Piccadilly Records

Ah, the incomprehensible return of the worse sounding format, vinyl - mind you, prior to this we've moved from CD to MP3 so a precedent has, kind of, been set...

A walk around the Northern Quarter before settling on Affleck & Something Beginning With B for more drinks...

...before heading out into the early evening...

..and to Swadesh, our favourite Manchester Indian Restaurant, directly opposite an all you can eat Chinese Restaurant we once attended with old chum, Craig Harding...

The fayre at Swadesh was up to the usual standards...

...and duly scoffed...

Out into the dark...

...spotting a pub named after your correspondent...

...and a bus back to the hotel for some listening to the new acquisitions before bed...

A good first day...

...whose artwork is "The Incomprehensible Return of Vinyl"...

Meanwhile, at home, Rafa the Dog was down at the shore with his chums...

Highlight of the Day : Return to Swadesh...
