Start the day with Weetabix and a banana and some Brahms...

At lunchtime, expediting the box of CBQ...

This evening, to Jane and Bobby's to pick up Olly...

Off to Easter Rd for tonight's League Cup quarter final between Hibernian and Queen of the South...

Bumped into former QoS player Gavin Reilly - now signed to Hearts and currently playing for Dunfermline...

He ended up in the row in front of us, taking his place amongst the Queens fans...

Warm up...

Latest signing, the Queens legend that is Stephen Dobbie...

Coach, Big Jim Thomson and his beard...

In the first half, QoS seemed to be up against it and a loss looked likely...

Hibs squandered a couple of good chances...

..but, eventually, inevitably, went ahead with a scrambled goal...

...but Queens started to get things a little more together as half time approached...

Into the second half and play was more even...

Then, an injury to Hilson and Dobbie took to the field...

His touch was perfect and he showed why he was now easily the best player on the park...

After a few chances for Queens had gone awry, a well worked move led to the Dobmeister scoring from close range with an unstoppable shot...

1-1...

With Queens soaking up all pressure and threatening at our end, with just 8 minutes left, we took the lead with a thunderous header...

...from Anderson...

The crowd, as they say, went wild...

2-1 with seven minutes to go...

But it got better...

With four minutes to go, another for the mighty Queens...

Lyndon Dykes, with a cracking strike, after another well worked move, including some deft footwork from Dobbie...

No way back now for the Hibees, surely...

Olly advised this was the best Queens game he's attended. and the EP was delighted too...

3 minutes of injury time and no comeback from Hibs - all over...

Your correspondent and his cohorts were amongst this small but happy throng...

Man of the match?

The Dobmeister!

Home, happy...

Highlight of the Day : Queens beating Hibs of course...
