Cloudland Blue Quartet - Covers 2015

And September is gone, half of it spent in Canada...

Feeding station is in demand, kind of...

Hello there you wee monkey...

The sun is not shining on Volkswagen right now but it was this morning on this one...

A telegraph pole - I like them - they take stuff places, kind of...

Another lovely day in Edinburgh...

...and home under a low Autumn sun...

...for some late evening...

...simple guitar/vocal recording of three sets of covers...

Considering I usually play bass on these and quite a few of the keys had to be amended, I did not do too badly for a first run through...

This may be the start of a new project, as if I don't have enough already - the two exhibition pieces for Manchester and New York are done and away now though, although not yet "out there", man...

A well-deserved rebuke from the Exec Producer was received, as I launched into the final number, "Blue Suede Shoes", at gone 10:30 - hence the shout of "last one" on the tape of proceedings, not that anyone other than your correspondent will ever hear it...

And of course I forgot to press record for the entire first set...

New music and good skies...

Playlist
Borodin - The Three Symphonies
Sarah MacDougall - Across the Atlantic
Ekkehard Ehlers - A Life Without Fear

A good moon this morning, though not a red moon...

...and skies without were still good...

...as I headed out...

A walk down to Stockbridge at lunchtime...

...the beast was accompanied by a beast for part of the way...

Hoem under a still shining, early autumn sun...

...with these having been partaken of at Help the Aged (which I assume I did by buying this)...

...and Oxfam - second Canadian songstress in two days......

All on his own, ex-Raspberry, Eric Carmen, although he doesn't want to be...

...and a weird but good item on the Staubgold label by Ekkehard Ehlers...

The beast was about its business with a handful of keenly priced CDs...

Rory Custard was also spotted trotting past...

Feelers issued today to try and reconstitute Capital Models but to no avail...

That's it for now...

Red thing missed...

Rheostatics - AGO 5 September 2015
Groundhogs - Split
Sex Pistols - Kiss This

Did you see that Red Moon thing today? Me neither...

However, I picked this up at lunchtime in the British Heart Foundation shop - the rewards of trawling endlessly...

Well worth a listen...

It's Canadian don't you know...

Other than that, was hoping to watch "Dr Who" tonight but the schedules were clogged up with Tivo'd "Coronation St"s and live "Doc Martin" and a "Who Do You Think You Are", so spent the evening buggering about on that interweb...

What a lovely new album to have acquired however...

Highlight of the day : A new discovery...

The view from the office this morning...

And yesterday's work out there...

Having retired at three, I was up at seven and tidying up the mess made yesterday...

Again no pics of the kitchen but this the tidied back room...

The new feeding station is proving popular...

Moved the CD player back to the back room and brought the turntable through and gave a few records a spin...

Velvets...

Roedelius...

Francoise...

Gentle Giant...

...kind of...

...while continuing to update this - it's taking an age - I'm three weeks behind at present - but, once Canada is fully up, I'll probably post everything else up...

I've been writing the post Canada entries on a daily basis to try and remember what we've been up to since - which isn't that much...

Maybe I should've been outside...

Instead, I ran through the three Cohen songs and then a goodly number of the Capital Models' covers sets from the past few years - don't know what to do about that project now Andy's gone...

I could contact Keith and Jim and see if there's interest - it would be nice to do another gig for Jamie - but we have no PA now...

Out to my mum's, this her reaction to the new EP...

This when it finished...

Just kidding...

Over to Anne's mum's, Anne and Jane having now arrived home from London...

There was celebratory jelly...

While a very tired Kitty advertised smoked cheese...

...and chocolate biscuits...

Keth described winning a bet on footie...

Bob was a little under the weather - his granny seems to be doing ok but is still in hospital...

With her being ninety nine and a half it's touch and go...

I was pleased ot have Anne back...

While Olly and Kitty listed their current top ten tracks so their old Uncle David could take a listen to what's floating their respective boats right now music wise...

Back home, I played the three Cohen songs' original versions, each in turn followed by the CBQ versions...

In the Exec Producer's opinion, I won 3-0...

On the night I will perform two of the three featured songs, based on the Exec Producer's advice...

Late on, a very bright moon, which proved impossible to capture with any clarity - as this picture shows with some measure of clarity...

I did indeed listen to Olly and Kitty's selections...

Some of them were quite good...

Lights out...
