Glam, mans and Shostakovich...

Playlist
Various - The Best Glam Rock Album in the World...Ever
Dittersdof/Hummel/Reger - Bratschen Sonaten
Ensemble Alternance - Fall From the Perfect Ground
Shostakovich - The Two Piano Sonatas and Other Works
King Crimson - Live at the Orpheum (Preview)

Very much entertained today by a compilation I put together a good number of years ago now - not the actual "The Best Glam Rock Album in the World...Ever" but my own version - with forty of my faves from the heyday of popular music - 1972 to 1975...

Of course, that's only my opinion...

Artwork for the "Morphinecodex" box set arrived at Crispycat...

Also popping through the door today were the last two of the recently ordered advantageously priced classical discs...

During the course of the evening, I enjoyed those and a Shostakovich piano disc which they knocked off the living room shelf...

And the new series of "The Wrong Mans", the last of "Brian Pern" and "Andy Parsons" also entertained...

In Glasgow, an out of control lorry killed six pedestrians and injured a further ten - you never know what's going to happen...

A reflection of the times that there had to be immediate denials that it was "a terrorist attack" rather than a dreadful, tragic accident...

A reflection too of the times that flags will fly at half mast on Scottish Government buildings tomorrow - I look forward to to this happening every time there is a dreadful, tragic accident...

A reflection too of the times that the media has gone into overkill and that we can expect some unfortunate "Facebook selfies" in the papers and online over the next few days - as we were discussing only last night - as journalists pry into the private lives of those affected - as a direct result of many people amongst us, for some unfathomable reason, being interested in the private lives of people they did not know who have been killed or injured in a dreadful, tragic accident...

Not a Merry Xmas I fear for some poor souls...

Highlight of the Day : Glam, Mans and Shostakovich...
