The new collection started out in August 2013 as experimental work on a short movement from a Haydn string quartet, to accompany a set of digital paintings, then moved to a remix project based on the previous CBQ LP “Riverleaves”...

From then until the end of the year, much time was spent creating new tracks from scratch whilst also combining and reworking further ambient tracks from the CBQ back catalogue...

Throughout 2014 there has been an awful lot of listening and editing taking place (this is a very long Long Player) to get to the point where the final versions for the main 2CD set were created...

The tracks in their original form are lengthy, ranging from 17 to 65 minutes , which reflects the goal which emerged early in the recording process - to produce a work lasting 24 hours...

While the majority of the final edits for the main version are between seven and eight minutes long, a combination of all available formats allows this 24 hour target to be reached...

The working title of the album was “Twenty Four Paintings” and a book comprising those 24 paintings is also available but only as part of the sixth format, comprising the book plus 32 discs with an overall duration exceeding 24 hours.  Also included with this final version of the album, is a 33rd disc, containing fifty minutes of the original four hours of material created from the Haydn piece at the outset of the project...
