Out...

Sunny and warm at lunchtime...

...as a walk along to Fopp ensued - nothing enticed, nor did it need to with nine of ten 1p CDs still to arrive plus a World Cup bet financed 60CD box of classical music played on authentic instruments on its way...

These exhibitions are on the radar...

Home and up the hill...

The Beast I...

The Beast II...

The Beast III...

The new regime seems to be working - I feel kind of driven to maintain it now - a bit like obsessively listing here each day, the music to which I've been listening - or posting up weekly podcasts thereof...

I still have a long way to go - just like the Coops on "Love It To Death"...

This wee monkey entertained as we enjoyed a tasty salmon based tea...

Some mucking about creating further longest-track-from-each-album playlists by T Dream, David Bowie and Asia, including the "non-classic" line up...

Took Anne to the Murrayfield Hotel for a night out with Lynn and an ultimately due to circumstances beyond her control no show Pennster...

Meanwhile, a good time was had by your correspondent at the Safari Lounge at Abbeyhill, where chum Jim Park was on late notice drumming duties for the launch night of Roy Moller's new album "One Domino", ably supported by a short set from William Douglas - a blast from the past (as we DJS like to say)...

Also in attendance - and meeting up with Mr CBQ by chance for the second time in a matter of weeks following our both having enjoyed Television - was Dave Diaz of the Diaz Brothers and partner Moira...

Both William and Dave updated me on their latest projects and Dave's band the Silver Birches is worth a listen over on Soundcloud...

You can just see the top of Jim's head in the background re this shot taken during the first set...

Of course, I bought the CD - and, upon listening in the car on the way home - it was found to be very good indeed...

The second set featured a full band and comprised some excellent covers - kicking off with Brian Eno's "I'll Come Running (to Tie Your Shoe)" and continuing with The Ramones' "Rockaway Beach" and numbers by the Velvets ("Rock'n'Roll") and T Rex ("Life's a Gas" and "Spaceball Ricochet")...

Sadly, at this point I hit my curfew and headed off into the night but kudos too to DJ Jeremy Thoms, head honcho of Moller's label Stereogram Recordings, who played great music all night, all of which was familiar to me - Bowie, Iggy, Kraftwerk, DAF, LCD Soundsystem, etc etc - great stuff...

A quick catch up with the end of "This Week", including a surreal interview with Ginger Baker - before hitting the sack...

Highlight of the day : Out and about...
