Up early and some time spent at the Laptop - just to mix things up a little - and, for no particular reason, compiled a 2 disc collection by Kansas, featuring the longest track from each of their 14 studio albums - and enjoyed a 90 second piece from the 2014 King Crimson sessions...

A sunny day on Jim Park Street...

Apropos not being tempted by chocolate, here are some bananas I bought yesterday...

As you can see, I took it upon myself to autograph them like yellow tennis balls at Wimbley-don...

Meanwhile, the World Cup rumbles on - it's been one of the best, football-wise, that I can recall - 1966 was the first I remember watching...

I have a convoluted bet regarding Argentina.  Via a special offer by a, no doubt, very shrewd bookie, £50 on them to win the tournament at an implausible 10/1, hedged by two bets totalling £400 at 2/9 that they won't win the tournament...

Via chum Spike - inveterate gambler of the parish - here's the second hedging bet...

What this means is that if they win the cup then, all told, I'll be £50 up...

And, if they don't win the cup (more likely based on last night's struggle against Switzerland), I'll be £38 up....

It's all good...

A very hot 1st of July - not quite halfway through the year - that'll happen at noon tomorrow...

Still roasting on the way home...

...to catch the second half of Argentina v Switzerland, which Argentina won 1-0 in extra time - and, even though it would mean less of a return on my bet, I was routing for the Swiss, who suffered what we Scots are inclined to call a "Billy Bremner moment"...

The Exec Producer, having Executively Produced an excellent chilli, was enjoying the new sofa...

Feet off the seats!

Between matches, some ripping and listening and time sucked away fathoming out the gubbins of the iPhone...

Then, Belgium v USA - again 0-0 at full time (a result which garnered a goodly amount for Spike as advised by text)...

Belgium clinched it 2-1 in extra time and so the last 8 comprises each of the eight group winners...

No games now till Friday...

Lights out with King Crimson from 40 years ago today...

Highlight of the Day : It's go to be Kansas on the cans...
