With Annie back in the swing today, it was off to Patisserie Florentin for breakfast - no croissants though due to the holidays...

Then, it seemingly being a "nice dasy", we drove down the A7 into the Borders - my first time behind the wheel since Xmas Day...

Through an uninviting Galashiels and on to Selkirk...

..whose main attraction is an old church and its graveyard...

...but these were quite nice too...

It was freezing and we took refuge in the Selkirk Deli...

...where nourishment was partaken of...

...coffees were enjoyed - Anne's is not very far away, it's just very small...

...and the baby Jesus, albeit not a very proportionately correct baby Jesus, lay next to us in the window...

On to Hawick but, with my leg now signalling the onset of possible gyp, Annie took over the driving...

A stroll around the town and down by the river...

Back to the main street and Annie partook of a new hat and fleece in a shop opposite this tower...

Back up towards Edinburgh with the light fading...

...and preparations for worsening weather...

I liked this traffic light for some reason...

An abortive desk buying attempt at Ikea was followed by a visit to my old mum to wish her a Happy New Year and accidentally break her bathroom light switch...

Despite this last, she was on good form...

Home and my CBQ remix of my 1977 recording "The Drone Effect"...

...along with various other music, soundtracked much stupid moving around of CDs...

...the Living Room shelf now carries all my "Now That's What I Call Music" CDs - not the real ones, the ones I've made myself to my own tastes - however, they are around ten years worth of favourite music not yet recorded there...

Another pointless exercise beckons...

"Endeavour", a prequel to "Morse" was very much enjoyed before we turned in...

Highlight of the Day : Road trip...
