Playlist

Playlist today was mostly records received as Xmas presents from 1973 to a couple of days ago...
Up a bit earlier today...
Nice chance view of Amsterdam on the laptop...
Managed to finish off the ripping of the 57 discs across the 12 Xmas presents...
And, managed to write up six days of this, without "too much" memory loss making itself known...
And ran through 10 possible songs for tonight, a visit to an open mic in Kirkliston with Keith...
Anne was off out for a meet up with Lynn and, then, to Jane & Bob's to watch Hearts in an early kick off fixture, go 3-0 down to Hibs at Easter Road and almost claw back a point but were denied a couple of times at the very death by the Hibees' previously hapless keeper...
Later this afternoon, Queens thumped Hamilton 4-1 to go 3rd...
On Anne's return, some "Bones" - with the unexpected reveal of Zack as an evil baddy...
Boo...
A visit from Fang who, today, did not slash...
It was the weekend...
Salmon, chips and peas and then, out and over to Kirkliston for me, meeting up with the guys at the Newliston Arms...
Here, pre the night...
Sadly, I did not catch many of the names (everyone just going by their first name) other than vague Scotts and Jordans...
This, I think, is Scott and someone else...
They kicked the night off with "Psycho Killer"...
Gordon, from Keith's other band, was the organiser...
Then, an unpictured CBQ played "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall", "Let's Stick Together" and "Mrs Robinson" then, on being asked for one more, "Suspicious Minds"...
I think this is Jordan...
A couple of Smiths and Oasis and The Verve numbers...
Scott came back...
At our table, Keith and his actor sister from Madrid and Elaine, Ian and partner Sue and Robbie the Pict, who, it turned out, played a mean harmonica...
After Scott's chum played some Nick Cave and Portishead, Gordon's dad did a coup;e of Bob Dylan covers...
Then, I took to the stage again, this time with Keith on bass and we played through "The Ballad of John & Yoko", "Make Me Smile" and "Stuck in the Middle", with "Leaving on a Jet Plane" as our impromptu encore...
GI Joes played a trio of songs, as a trio...
Then, as a quartet, with Robbie on harp...
Jordan returned with a cohort on vocals...
...followed by a brave "Under Pressure"...
Scott returned once more with his chum for some Coldplay...
I guested on drums for Jordan's rendition of the Stones' "Midnight Rambler", with Ian on bass...
Then, an impromptu "Brown Eyed Girl", with Keith on vocals, Gordon on guitar, Ian on bass and your correspondent on drums...
One last number from the GI Joes with Robbie the Pict and it was all over...
Home around midnight...
An unexpectedly enjoyable evening indeed...
Highlight of the Day: Performing...
