A quiet Sunday ahead - I really ought to have started work on the podcast but, truth be told, I forgot...
I was certainly up early enough to have done so...
But this here diary was much needing to be brought up to date...
Coffee helped to awaken...
...and so, neglecting the podcast work, I got sucked into those other things...
The Diary, "Swan Songs" project and discovering, by chance, new to me ambient maestro KepTap...
Nice...
Post a very nice breakfast, from my own hand as regards the superbly done scrambled eggs...
...which were accompanied by Stanley Turrentine and Milt Jackson via the perfectly adequate and, really, no need to be replaced whatsoever (per the Exec Producer) Sony speakers...
With Anne then out shopping, I set about widening the selection of songs to be tried out for the Swan project...
Meanwhile, in that Yorkshire, young Dougie turned 10...
For lunch some tasty home made soup, with lovely crusty rolls...
...and a Sunday afternoon spent, in the main, watching the closing episodes of Season 1 and opening episodes of Season 2, of "Chicago PD"...
Very good indeed...
Fish, chips and ubiquitous beans for tea...
...followed by "Strictly" - yes you can see why nothing was done on the podcast...
...and the first two episodes of the much better than expected "Dr Who" spin off, "The War Between the Land and the Sea"...
Prior to which I'd caught some of "Dr Who: The Sea Devils" on BBC Four, from, probably, 1974 or so...
It really was rubbish - some things should stay in your mind and never be re-watched as, doing so destroys the misconception of quality...
The music in particular, much lauded for decades by fans of electronic works, was, frankly, pants...
Meanwhile, Hearts were in Glasgow playing Celtic and, against all odds (and the possession stats), were 1-0 up at half time, then, made it 2. Celtic got one back in 93 mins but the expected penalty never came - a glorious win for the Jam Tarts...
The highlights were duly enjoyed on the iPlayer post the "Dr Who" thing...
Then, closed the day upstairs with some late night listening on the small CD player and AKG headphones...
This from the reconstituted in the back room after being banished from the Living Room after 37 years, "The Shelf"...
This was the first CD to pop through the door on my return home from hospital 10 years ago - thought I'd give some of it a wee spin tonight...
And, finally, this, which I recall having been disappointed about as a good deal of it is actually pre 20th Century...
But I'm over that now and just enjoyed the music...
Bed at midnight, weekend over, podcast work tomorrow...
Highlight of the Day: Relaxing, kind of...
