Checking on the past...

Playlist

Pay heed to the fortune cookies...

"Your love of music will be an important part of your life..."

It is indeed...

and

"Saturday is your lucky day, enjoy it..."

I commenced doing so just after 7...

Scenes...

I spent an inordinate amount of the day, bringing my playlist re "2001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" up to date re the 1,089 LPs which have, thus far, been included across the various reprints...

This is the version I have...

By close of play late this afternoon, I had completed the 50s, 60s and 70s...

Some stats...

What else happened?

Well, we watched 3 episodes of "Chicago PD" and Queen of the South won 2-0 away at Alloa...

Fang popped by..

...and Anne did something more productive than me - Xmas is coming...

...before relaxing with "Strictly"...

...having created another top prawn, n'duja and mascarpone pasta feast...

While Anne enjoyed "Strictly", I listened to some music, jut for a change...

The Beatles “Anthology Collection”. Listening to the Decca audition tapes, it’s easy to understand why the label decided not to sign them…

Mott the Hoople “Greatest Hits”. 7 superb singles, 2 top, self referential, ballads and an Overend Watts stomper, augmented on the CD version by the single edit of “One of the Boys” & the cover of the Velvets’ “Sweet Jane”, which kicked off the 1st LP I ever bought, back in the autumn of 1972…

...and CBQ “Swan Songs”. Out next November but there’ll be a Joni Mitchell cover on Monday’s podcast…

On listening tonight, I finally admitted defeat re 5 of the tracks, which will now revert to download only bonuses, leaving it as an 8 song, 32 minute LP...

Ended the day with the last three "Bones" of the 2nd season...

Very entertaining...

Highlight of the Day: Old records...
