Playlist
Very sad new yesterday as one of our erstwhile faves of the late 80s and early 90s passed way - Mr Chris Rea...
Accordingly, this morning first thing, some holes in the collection were filled...
A great talent indeed...
Also this morning, watched a Rick Beato video where he ran down his top 10 tracks of the year...
I already had Rosalia, Haley Williams, Bon Iver and Addison Rae...
But I picked up new to me things by Men I Trust, Water From Your Eyes, Mei Semones, Deftones, Been Stellar and Stephan Wilson Jr...
Also pre breakfast, some Xmas music listening cos, you know, it's nearly Xmas...
Breakfast and yet another Wordle...
Then, I needed to top up Anne's presents (another 6 required I reckoned, after seeing what she'd put under the tree for me)...
And so, out and down the hill with her to the zoo, then she was of to see her mum...
A bus for me into town...
Into Fopp - a thing acquired and pics taken of these to remind me to maybe make them up myself at some point...
A couple more things acquired elsewhere then a tram down to Leith Walk...
I was being soundtracked...
...on the tram...
...recorded for posterity - or, ok, the playlist at the top of the entry...
Post one last thing being bought and my target having been met, another tram back to Haymarket and then two buses home...
Anne messaged to say she'd forgotten her list so I sent a pic...

I was also perusing the Gramophone LPs of the year - a few I "need" to check out...
Post one last thing being bought and my target having been met, another tram back to Haymarket and then two buses home...
I'd left the laptop "sleeping"...
It had gone to fuck when I tried to waken it up - second time in the last few weeks...
Hmmm...
Fixed it...
Anne was out again, so some present wrapping was undertaken and completed...
Including burning this year's comp for Anne and doing the cover and wrapping it...
I was ready for Xmas with a day and a bit to spare...
Not like me...
Listening to new stuff...
A post on BlueSky re this site about jazz in the year I was born, sent me to dig this out and give it a spin...
...followed by this - two of the tracks and an alt take of one of them, were all recorded on the day I was born...
My third and final Coltrane of the day was this, his final studio recordings - he advised he wanted it released with just the titles and musicians on the cover, advising he was "tired of words"...
Macaroni Cheese for tea...
"Mastermind" some Football and 175 at "University Challenge"...
More Christmas music, fine tuning my playlist - which won't actually be played at Xmas - maybe next year...
Towards close of play, I rediscovered Portuguese jazz label found in April this year, Clean Feed and partook of a few items pre bed at midnight...
Highlight of the Day: Last minute (ok, 48 hours) shopping
