Day of the first performance since January 2020...

Up at 6...

...and packing up the gear...

A good day promised...

Daily Section 28/432 was Section 52, from The Doors to Dream Theater...

I chose a Def Leppard related disc by what started out as a Mott the Hoople covers band, a Nick Drake collection and Mike Portnoy’s final Dream Theater LP, disc 3, the instrumental version of the main record…

Some relaxing post breakfast, perusing books on the Bauhaus...

...and 20th Century Works at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art...

Anne was off to the football (Hearts 1 The Rangers 3)...

Luna too was waiting around...

Off around 11:15, taking Anne to Bob & Jane's pre footie, while I drove out to Roslin...

A lovely day in this lovely town...

Sister Sheila's wedding reception was held in the building on the left in 1979, sister Pam's in the building on the right in, I think, 1985 or so...

It looked like we had some competition from "Sandy B"...

My gear unloaded and ready to be taken in...

I met with the group of Germans visiting Rosslyn Chapel, whose lunch later, necessitated a break in our set up work but also, later still, provided sustenance to the Models...

As the boys and Moira arrived, it started...

Initial soundcheck completed, we walked to John and Moira's for lunch...

Strange trio portrait...

Back to the hall at 4 to set up the lights and finish off the soundcheck...

...and John put his lights in place...

...which, of course, changed everything for the better...

The scene was set...

A drive home to pick up Anne...

Luna was relaxing as usual...

...and back to the venue...

...with its lovely cheap drink...

First set went without any hitches...

At half time some fundraising re sliding pound coins to a whisky bottle - bassist Keith won - but valiantly put the bottle back into the raffle...

At the start of set 2, original Capital Models drummer, Jim Park, joined us, on his birthday, for a rendition of The Velvets' "Waiting for the Man"...

...then, the first six songs of set two were followed by the raffle, where I was ably assisted by John's daughter Chloe, with man from the hall, Alan, delivering the prizes to the winners...

...a good time was had by all..

Into the closing six numbers and there was even some dancing...

...and an encore, a very fast version of our opener, "Hard Rain"...

And then it was all over...

Good chat had been undertaken with old chums in the audience...

Take down ensued and car loaded, driven home and unloaded under the moon...

Our last three gigs have been 2018, 2020 and 2022.  Let's hope the next is before 2024!!

Off to bed with the Clash (not literally)...
