Up late but I had recorded the podcast last night so not a problem...

Downloaded some bootlegs - the Coop, UK, Steve Harley and Soft Machine...

Into "P" (started yesterday actually) re the classical A-Z...

Then, via Twitter, discovered a new to me artist, having enjoyed Paisiello's Piano Concertos and half of a Perusio disc...

And so, I was sidetracked into the wonderful sounds on Bandcamp of Francisco López...

Not music per se but fascinating stuff...

Views this morning are rocks from around the house...

Solo coffee while I "worked"...

Breakfast with Anne...

Saturday sausages...

More coffee and the radio...

Then, to sorting the classical CDs in the backroom whilst enjoying some out there piano music...

Piling and filing...

Outside looked nice - Anne was in the garden...

Done...

Notice the difference?

Hmmm...

Filing finished, it was 1 o’clock and time for lunch, bum de dum de dum...

After lunch, some listening, while I finished off stuff I'd forgotten...

Both the LPs below were recorded on this very day in 1960...

80 minutes of music by Jimmy Smith, Kenny Burrell, Stanley Turrentine  and Donald Bailey - but not released till 1961 (L) and 1963 (R)...

Mid afternoon, out for a walk, up and over the back hill...

We found ourselves outside Capital Model Keith's house...

I called him on the phone but no reply...

We could see him through his house though, out in the back garden playing his guitar...

Too long a time spent in Tesco re other shoppers - all for some Bounties and scones...

All told, a 3 mile walk - not bad...

Back home, more listening...

Post those, some Rockabilly to cleanse the palate...

...followed by a tasty tea from Annie...

With plenty left over for tomorrow...

Then, coffees and Bounties...

And "Father Brown"...

Still Life...

A 15 minute call with my mum - turns out her phone had been accidentally turned down to zero, hence her not picking up over the last few days...

So far, the leg infection she was admitted with is causing more concern than the Covid, whose symptoms seem limited to a very nasty sounding cough...

“I’m not depressed son” she said. She’s a trooper!!

Here she is in December 2017...

The sun was going down as Anne painted and I listened...

...and posted some music books on the Twitter...

The requester asked about another Eno biography - this, of course...

Some Doo Wop...

“Stranded in the Jungle” by The Cadets, covered in the 70’s by the New York Dolls, could be a template for much of what Frank Zappa did...

He was openly inspired by Doo Wop...

My own interest stems from Brian Eno’s having also been influenced by the genre (though more opaquely than Zappa)...

A beautiful sunset, including the moon and Venus...

...some old hip-hop/sampletastic sounds...

...some Stax - what do you think the first track was?

You're damn right...

And, to end the day (almost), some ambience...

...while reading through the the track listings and notes on all three volumes...

Finally, choosing what to end the day on...

...plumping for the soundtrack from the film "Heat"...

Top...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day : Eating, filing, walking, listening...
