Up early and wee visitor first thing...

Out to Tesco and some tasty bread procured - Irish Wheaten...

...and Corn Bread...

Updating the red book of CDs I own...

Out to Loanhead and, pre a visit to my mum, down Polton Woods for a walk about...

Anne was getting texts from nephew Olly re the hearts game, last of the season (2-0 away at Celtic)...

We found a path by the embankment leading into a meadow,...

This was Mavisbank...

On we went...

A walled garden was discovered, sadly, private...

A home on the opposite side of the meadow probably afforded good views...

We headed towards Mavisbank House, once the home of a certain Mr Clerk who seed to have owned all the towns in the area...

It burned down in 1973.  I lived in Loanhead then but don't have any recollection of the event...

The house must too have had excellent views...

A further walk around another part of the meadow...

Looking back...

Back towards the walled garden...

...and to the River Esk...

..where many a playful hour was enjoyed in my youth....

Back to the car and to my mum's - where Sheila and Andrew were already in attendance...

This from the mum's-eye-view-cam...

Good chat, coffee and biscuits before heading to Anne's mum's for tea...

Kitty and Olly seem bigger every time...

Mmm, steak pie...

What's this...

Ladies with their arms folded...

Kitty...

...and Mary both captured here really looking forward to their respective holidays which start tomorrow morning...

At least the EP was happy...

Home for some telly...

The return of "inspector George Gently"...

very good...

Bed...

Highlight of the day : A walk in the woods...
